Comforters, down comforters, down Bedding, and down alternative bedding will make you feel like you’re sleeping on a cloud. When we first viewed the Venus Siberian down comforters they immediately went on all our staff’s gift list. Comforters made out of alternative materials provide just as much warmth and coziness as the real thing.

Thread count is also a sign of quality. Thread count is the number of threads that are contained in one square inch of fabric. The best down comforters will have a high fillpower and thread count. Down Comforters have thread counts that range from 180 to 500 threads per square inch. A good comforter is the very high quality hypoallergenic goose down comforter with 330 thread count long staple Egyptian cotton sateen fabric, and features satin piping around the edges. The main difference between this and the Venus comforter is that the Serenity comforter is covered with a 356 thread count German cotton sateen cover
Much to my surprise there are 4 different types of goose down on the market. There is Canadian Goose down and this is in the top of the line luxury comforters. there is also Hungarian Goose which is also a good fill. The last two are not of the best grade to use. They are the Polish Goose which, in some cases, are live plucked and the Chinese Goose which is one of the smallest domesticated geese, and their down and feathers are very brittle. Most of the cheaper goose down bedding on the market today has the Chinese Goose down on them
Easy Salmon Recipe: Many and Diverse
Posted by admin on May 14th, 2009 filed in General | Comment now »If there’s anything an easy salmon recipe is, it’s versatile. Who says salmon has to be the main dish? Try googling the phrase ‘easy salmon recipe’ and you will find ingredients and methods as many and diverse as the fish in the sea.
Want proof there is more than one way to make salmon tasty? For my daughter’s 4th birthday party, I made salmon burgers and smoked salmon sandwiches. When we had the in-laws over for dinner, I impressed them with a really creamy salmon quiche which I whipped up following an easy salmon recipe I got from a friend. When my girlfriends visited to coo and croon over my then two-month-old newborn, Samantha, I made them smoked salmon cheese pie. They loved it almost as much as they love the smoked salmon cheesecake and cheeseballs I made for them several days after.
But how could I have forgotten that easy salmon recipe I made for the husband? That night Mike proposed, I made him smoked salmon chowder and smoked salmon lasagna. To this day, I’ve never forgotten how happily sated he looked. Oh, and just in case you’re wondering why I cook too many salmon dishes, it’s because I have to. We catch our own fish, we catch them a lot. I need to come up with innovative and easy salmon recipes or I’ll be all bogged down with too much salmon and not enough people to eat them.

Get the Recipe from Restaurant of Your Choice
Posted by admin on January 12th, 2009 filed in General | Comment now »There’s an old adage saying ‘women want everything’ and, while we may want many things, we don’t want everything. So we happen to like shopping every now and then and new things for our home, but that’s part of who we are. We also tend to cook a lot, especially if you have children and, in my house we order out a lot since my favorite meals can’t be made at home.
There is always a recipe from restaurant menus that I’m trying to recreate at home and I was having little success until I got my hands on the exact recipe from restaurant of my choice. I didn’t meet anyone who worked there or take a part time job to obtain them. Instead, I heard about ‘America’s Most Wanted Recipes’, which happen to feature recipes from my favorite restaurants and ones I’ve always wanted to try.
In this economy, it can be an unnecessary expenditure to go out and eat. When I finally got the exact recipe from restaurant after restaurant, I was stunned at the mark-up on eating out. I still go out to eat but it’s for social purposes instead of for the food because I’m proud to say that now, I make all my favorite dishes at home.
Finally, the Restaurant Food Recipes You Want on a Silver Platter
Posted by admin on January 12th, 2009 filed in General | Comment now »If you’re anything like me or countless others like me, then you’ve gone out to eat at your favorite restaurant so you could quench the craving for a specific food or meal. The caveat is that, despite most restaurants making dishes we can make it home, there is always something missing when you actually try and make it. I know this because I’ve tried to replicate restaurant food recipes with some success. Mine are good but it isn’t exactly the same as the ones I order each time I go out and eat. I’ve tried this with a few different recipes and the result stays the same: close but no dice.
That used to be the case, so let me clarify. I was watching TV and I saw a quick segment that highlighted the cookbook ‘America’s Most Wanted Recipes’. As soon as I saw the list of restaurants and recipes given (exact, identical ones mind you), I purchased it. Thanks to the Internet I had instant access and I made fettucine alfredo that night. I really couldn’t believe it, but this, like all of the restaurant food recipes, couldn’t be distinguished from that served at the restaurant. It’s a source you’ll use time and time again that much is for certain.
